Light and Dark fought for dominance over his soul, that’s why his inner world was covered in sand, eroded by the fight.

Having grown up fearing his dark side, he glanced fearfully at the woman sleeping beside him, his newly wedded wife as dark thoughts consumed him.
Eyes brimming with sleep connected with his wide ones and she ran her palm soothingly over his back, having seen him through this conflict millions of times.
Without a word, she snuggled closer and went back to sleep. It was her way of saying
