Here’s mine for the week

He was dead tired after work, somehow dragging his feet, trying to get home as fast as he could so that he could go to sleep, when out of the blue, all the lights on the street gave out, plunging the road ahead into darkness. All but one, a sign with the word ‘Service’. The highly misunderstood word discouraged him at first, but the path was dark and he needed directions.

Cautiously stepping inside the shop/café/whatever it was, he was astounded to find angels, complete with wings, leading him to a chair, placing food and urging him to eat. The table had a free-of-cost sign and for the first time in all these years, he smiled as the angels sat around him, talking with him while he ate.

At the end of the meal, all the angels suddenly burst into a song. As he was about to join in, he felt a sensation of falling and woke up in his bedroom, strangely satisfied. The dream began to slip away, leaving just the words of the song –

Grows dark thy path before thee?

Press on! Still undismayed;

Heaven shines resplendent o’er thee,

Though Earth be wrapped in shade.

So, I like to think that Angels/Messengers of God/whatever you like to call them give us messages through dreams. I never remember my dreams after I wake, so why do I wake up humming a hymn I haven’t heard since my school days? This TLT sort of came out of that theory since I didn’t quite know what else to do with this prompt. It was quite difficult!

  1. I absolutely love this!! I remember my dreams very frequently and believe that while many of our dreams are just stuff not very important, some are messages our subconscious mind is trying to make us conscious of. Whether we believe they are self messages, psychic ones, heavenly messages sent by gods\angels….I believe it’s important to listen closely if we have a feeling it’s important. Your story here is truly amazing! I love how even though this one was a struggle for you, you tried anyway, and succeeded so well! 😀❤
