Here’s mine for the week!
She watched his face screw up at the very mention of pumpkins and held in a laugh. “Can we not have pumpkin for dinner?”, her adorable 6 year old whined. She pinched his cheeks and smiled as he ran out to play with his friends before dinner.
All throughout dinner, his nose was scrunched up, searching for the dreaded pumpkin in every dish. Only after dinner did his face return to normal. “What’s for dessert?”, he asked, bouncing happily, the pumpkin scare having been dealt with.
She watched amusedly as he devoured four tarts and held in another laugh, stealing a glance at the open page of the recipe book which innocently displayed the title- Spiced Pumpkin Mini Tarts.

So, I actually don’t like pumpkins at all, yes I scrunch up my face at them every time. But I really wanted to taste spiced pumpkin once because it was mentioned in every Harry Potter book.
So I found the recipe for Spiced Pumpkin Mini Tarts last Halloween and found that I quite liked the taste.

Oooo…I absolutely love pumpkin – flesh and seeds – roasted, stewed, made into everything from soup to pie, tacos to chips. But tarts — that sounds divine! Please do share the recipe 🙂 Thanks for joining us for 3 Line Tales!

I like pumpkin seeds, but I’m a “face scrunched up” when it comes to pumpkin pie!
Lovely 3 line tale!

I am allergic to a lot of spices so I suspect I couldn’t eat spiced pumpkin tarts.

Cute story. Such a clever Mom. I too tried to trick my daughter into eating vegetables but it actually never worked.!

Oh my mom used to do it all the time! She used to use all kinds of tricks, using vegetable stock in Maggi, disguising the beetroot in the pizza sauce and such!

It grows on you, I think – the taste of pumpkin. My son still dislikes it, though I love it so I’m hoping that will change. A lovely warm family tale, just like mine – I think that pumpkin has made us think cosy 🙂

Yeah, I guess it does! I really hated the pumpkin dishes before, but pies ad tarts are just fine 😁

I like pumpkin pie but it does have to have some spice in it or it is kinda blah. Bet lots of kids get tricked into eating what they think they don’t like. Cute story.
