Here’s mine for the week

The two cubs ran down the weather beaten path, away from their massacred pride, vowing vengeance on the human poachers.

Thirteen years later, when they broke into a village to make good their promise, the sight of children being held as slaves drove a stake through their hearts.

In a few more years, slave children, trying to be rescued by humans would hide behind the growling lions, growling alongside them and yelling – Monsters.

This one is mainly fuelled by the line – The monsters are within us. Slave trade may be something we simply watch in films and TV dramas, but it very much exists. The idea that some humans are below others is a baseless one, but the fact that some people would have manual labour done by innocent children is much more vile in my eyes.
