Here’s mine for the week
The pin drop silence was shattered by a gasp, followed immediately by frantic shushing. She smiled quietly at her book, her neighbour chuckling a little.
They imagined the awe-filled eyes sweeping over the library’s mosaiced ceiling, stopping with wide-eyed wonder on the intricately carved columns and shelves, much like them a few years ago.
Another smile, another chuckle, everyone looked on at the group slowly making their way in, starry eyed, fondly. The Freshmen were here.

My junior college (11th and 12th Grade are called Junior College in India), Mithibai, used to have a beautiful library, not ornate like the one in the picture, but a very modern looking one. I’m sure they’ve redecorated by now – what I’m talking about was back in 2010-2012.
The decor was entirely glass and the shelves and walls were a calm shade of cream. I used to love it there, it also had air conditioning, so that may have had something to do with it as well. The heat in Mumbai is sweltering at best.
